Our History

A Healthcare Journey Dedicated to You

Founded in 2014, Cleopatra Hospitals Group (CHG) was established with a clear mission: to deliver world-class healthcare to patients across Egypt. Since listing on the Egyptian Stock Exchange in 2016 (EGX: CLHO), we have grown into Egypt’s leading private hospital network by number of operating hospitals and hospital beds.

Our portfolio includes eight major hospitals: Cleopatra Hospital, Cairo Specialized Hospital, Nile Badrawi Hospital, Al Shorouk Hospital, El Katib Hospital, Cleopatra October Hospital, Cleopatra El Tagamoa Hospital (our newest flagship), and Bedaya Hospital, one of Egypt’s most prominent IVF centers.

Our hospitals are complemented by a network of strategically located polyclinics serving communities across East and West Cairo. Beyond the capital, our footprint extends to Suez, where we operate a polyclinic and a Cath lab. Our polyclinics act as accessible entry points to our integrated care model, referring patients to our hospitals when more advanced treatment is needed.

We understand that undergoing any medical treatment can be a challenging experience for patients and their families. Our hospitals therefore follow a patient-centered model of care, built around each patient’s needs. Every facility offers a comprehensive range of diagnostic, medical and surgical services across both inpatient and outpatient units. Our Centers of Excellence further strengthen this offering, providing advanced expertise across a broad range of disciplines including cardiology, oncology, orthopedics, endoscopy, and nephrology, and other specialties.

Management Team

The Board of Directors is collectively responsible for the long-term success of the Company and the delivery of sustainable value to its stakeholders. The board sets the company’s strategic aims, ensures that the necessary resources are in place for the company to meet its objectives and reviews management performance. The board also sets the company’s values and standards and ensures that its obligations to its shareholders and other stakeholders are understood and met.

CHG’s Board of Directors encompasses backgrounds from different industries that help bolster the Group’s growth trajectory. Their experience brings forth a unique and diverse blend of expertise that contribute to effective decision making, as well as organizational and operational efficiencies that ultimately allow the Group to create value to all its stakeholders.

Cleopatra Hospitals Group’s board of directors includes a total of thirteen board members, with four seats allocated to Care Healthcare Limited (CHG’s founder controlled by CHG’s Chairman Ahmed Badreldin), four seats allocated to MCI Capital (an affiliate of Banque Misr and CI Capital), while the remaining five seats are allocated to the Group CEO, Dr. Ahmed Ezzeldin, and four independent board members with extensive sector experience as follows:
